NSF/ANSI 3
Commercial Warewashing Equipment

Racks per Hour / Dishes per Hour / Water Consumption Calculations

For informational purposes, the estimated racks per hour or dishes per hour for NSF/ANSI 3 Certified dishwashers can be calculated as follows:

Racks per Hour for Stationary Rack Dishwashers = 3600(NR) / TC

Racks per Hour for Rack Conveyor Dishwashers = (CS)(60) / RL

Dishes per Hour for Rackless Conveyor Dishwashers = (120)(CS)(CW) / PD

Water Consumption (gallons per hour) for Stationary Rack Dishwashers = (GPC)(RPH)

Water Consumption (gallons per hour) for Conveyor Dishwashers = (GPM)(60)

Where: CS = Conveyor speed measured in feet per minute
CW = Conveyor width measured in inches
              GPC = Gallons per cycle
              GPM = Gallons per minute
NR = Number of racks the dishwasher is designed to hold per cycle
PD = Distance between pegs measured in inches, center to center of the peg, in the direction of conveyor travel
RL = Length of the rack measured in feet
              RPH = Racks per hour
TC = Total cycle time measured in seconds

The total cycle time includes wash, rinse, dwell, and load times. Load times will vary depending on the type of dishwasher. Estimated load times commonly used for specific types of dishwashers are as follows:
door type (straight thru) - 5 seconds
door type (corner) - 7 seconds
hood type - 8 seconds
front opening type - 30 seconds

NOTE: Combination multi-tank Dishwashers consisting of different size modules (or tanks)
-C,E,K,L,M, or P- in any order, have operating capacity, conveyor speed, and final rinse
requirements the same as shown for similar standard multi-tank Dishwashers where all
modules (or tanks) are the same size. Operating capacity, conveyor speed, and final
rinse requirements are governed by the smallest (C,E,L, or M) module (or tank) in the
combination model. These models, not shown individually, are still considered NSF
Listed. Letters of model designation show tanks and their relative location used in
      this unit.
Model designation can be shown by using letters only or by using letters with numbers.
(Therefore, F-PLL is the same as F2-LP, etc.)
Dishwasher models with standard tanks in excess of three, not shown on the Listing, are
also considered NSF Listed, having final rinse requirements and conveyor speeds the same
      as similar three tank Dishwashers.
Combination multi-tank flight-type dishwashers may have additional power rinse tank
      indicated by suffix LC.
Optional numeric suffix indicates the length of the wash tank in inches.

models rather than CLe models and would indicate the total length of the dishwashing
    section(s).
[4] Unit also accepted when operated as a chemical sanitizing dishwasher provided with a
chemical sanitizing pump which is Listed under NSF Standard 29; "Low Temp" must be
displayed on the control panel when the machine is first powered up. Minimum wash and
rinse temperature is 130°F. Minimum final rinse temperature is 120°F.
[5] May be provided with wash chamber 6 inches higher than standard height 24 inches.
[6] May be provided with a blower/dryer unit option.
[8] Machine also available with “ER” denoting Drain Water Energy Recovery.
[9] Machine also available with “ADV” denoting Automatic Soil Removal.
[10] Machine rated for Pot and Pan washing. Conveyor speed and water consumption shown is the
same for both regular running mode and Pot and Pan mode except that while in Pot and Pan
mode, the conveyor will “dwell” 2 times for a specified amount of time (30 second
minimum each dwell). During this dwell, the rinse is turned off until 2 seconds before
the conveyor indexes. In Pot and Pan mode an average of 43 racks per hour can be run.

[1] Unit may be equipped with modular heat recovery/vapor removal system that is connected
on both the load and unload ends of the unit. Modules may use existing installation
ventilation system to move vapor or may be equipped with ventilation fans to move air as
    required.
[2] Units produced after February 15, 2007 may be dual temperature convertible models.
[3] Final rinse flow and usage are based on a 15 PSI flow pressure.
[4] With recirculated prewash. Prewash temperature 110° - 140°F is obtained from wash tank
    overflow and fresh water supply.
[5] Model designation may have suffix S for steam heated and/or suffix C for a CREW style
    rack conveyor machine.
[6] Units may come equipped with additional rinse arms for use in "Turbo" rinse mode, which
results greater water consumption. This is not a post sanitizing rinse.
[7] Model designation may have suffix CEL for electrically heated or CSL for steam heated.
[8] Nonrecirculated, fresh water, final rinse, 50 ppm available chlorine.
[9] Model designation may have suffix CE for electrically heated, CG for gas heated, or S
    for steam heated.
